Behind the Art

Meet the Artist

Brought up in Wyoming, my love affair with glass was ignited in 1991 after creating stained glass pieces for my wedding. In 2014, my journey as a full-time mixed media glass mosaic artist took root in the mountain community of Idyllwild, California, and the following year I became a gallery-represented artist.

In 2019 I moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where I built an art studio on the shores of a lake facing the San Juan Mountains.

As a self-taught artist, my creative journey of giving found objects a second life and my attention to glass placement are fed by my prior career as a professional organizer. In addition to being inspired by the history of items, I gravitate towards shapes, colors, layers, movement, and nature. My goal is to give the bits and pieces discovered during my travels a repurposed life within my glass mosaic creations.

The overall subject matter and creation process of each body of my work aims to spark a meaningful conversation that encourages viewers to unveil their own story within my art. Stories that push creative boundaries and unleash a connection in time between an art lover and a piece of my art.

As a storyteller, whether creating a mosaic or painting a silk, I continue to explore different processes and take inspiration from the world around me. Before making a single cut, I title my art. This process is against the norm, but keeps me centered on the story inspired by the title. This mindful approach is reflected in the detail of my art and is captured in the certificate of authenticity that accompanies every mosaic.

It is through this discovery process that I can ensure that every piece created is the one and only. As such, my art can be found in private art collections across the United States.
